Welcome to Simply Northern Belle!
Hey there! I’m Stephanie. I live in the Midwest, right where the North meets the South. That’s actually why this blog is called “Simply Northern Belle”. I was born and raised in the Northeast, but I have spent most of my adult life in the South. There is no doubt that I am a Northern girl but I cannot deny how living in the South for many years has influenced me.
I have been married to my handsome best friend, Ryan, for almost 12 years. We got married after being together for five and a half months!
As a young woman and a newlywed, I did not have many practical skills on how to manage and keep a home. I could not cook. I had huge plans to move to New York City after college and write for a magazine. Being a homeschooling mom of FIVE children was not exactly what I had in mind.
But as I settled into my role as a mother, I knew God had a plan, and I began to understand that His design for the family was good. I did not know what I was doing, but I trusted Him to teach me what I did not know. He is SO good and gives wisdom to all who ask, just like it says in the book of James.
In 2016, The Lord made it abundantly clear that homeschooling was what we needed to do. We pulled our daughter out of preschool and didn’t look back. Homeschooling is something I am very passionate about and I will be sharing what has helped us along the way. We also have kids with special needs, so as another mama on that journey, I will show you what homeschooling with special needs looks like for us!
Saving money is my thing. It’s just what I do. I will be sharing tips and tricks I use around here to not only stay in the budget but look nice with affordable wardrobe finds, educate my children without breaking the bank, and decorate my home on a dime (or no dimes. Free.).
I love the outdoors, so occasionally I will share encouragement on getting your kids (and you) in the woods and in the dirt.
Managing your home is not easy, but it can be more simple than what we make it. I’m here to share what has worked for me that has simplified my life as a busy woman, just like you.
This blog is a dream come true for me. I do not take it lightly that you are spending your time here. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope to be an encouragement to you as we walk through this beautiful chaos together.
Talk soon,
Stephanie
